We’re looking for a Security Enhanced Linux (SEL) Subject Matter Expert/Principal Systems Engineer (Red Hat Linux Enterprise) to join our Department of Defense (DoD) program team at the Compartmented Enterprise Services Office (CESO). CESO operates and maintains the infrastructure that facilitates the distribution of compartmented classified information across the Defense and Intelligence communities. Beyond providing IT support and services to over 6000 current customers, CESO is also committed to the continued advancement and modernization of their platforms as they prepare to scale to over 15,000 customers. As the Security Enhanced Linux SME you’ll provide technical leadership, guiding the design, architecture, development and implementation of the RHEL-based solutions required for the program to deliver highly secure services and continuously advance it’s security posture.

Clearance: Active TS/SCI Responsibilities Continuously monitor and evaluate program performance to identify security vulnerabilities in the network and system components in the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments Provide technical leadership to a cross-functional team to develop and implement new or enhanced solutions to address existing or mitigate future security and privacy vulnerabilities Assist the support teams by troubleshooting or debugging escalated customer issues and provide fixes as needed Produce reports and documentation demonstrating performance or compliance with policy and system security requirements Develop Linux or shell scripts (e.g. Bash, Python, etc.) to increase automation and efficiency of support teams Evaluate, develop and modify Security Enhanced Linux policy modules Specialized Experience Must have an active TS/SCI security clearance Current 8570 IAT Level II certification; or ability obtain within 90 days of hire 10 years of experience supporting Linux-based or related virtualized environments and infrastructure Demonstrated subject matter expertise in developing and maintaining a highly secure posture in Security Enhanced Linux (SEL) in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments Tech/Tools/Protocols StackRedHat 6 required and RedHat 7 preferred Patch systems using Yum, Spacewalk and/or Satellite servers Scripting using Python, Bash, or Ruby Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure and using AWS technologies, such as AWS Command Line (AWSCLI), Amazon Machine Images (AMI), Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Simple Storage Services (S3), Elastic Block Storage, and/or Virtual Private Cloud (VPC).
