Who we are seeking

DevOps position with a Strong Ruby component. Our platform is Infrastructure as Code, so there is a heavy Ruby coding aspect. This is a DevOps job, but we will train a strong Ruby developer into this position. You will play a critical role in cloud infrastructure automation capabilities for deploying our Leading SaaS product. You will help make our infrastructure automatic, simple, reliable, and easy to operate. What you'll do

  • Code, test and deploy changes to our Ruby/Chef based infrastructure library.

  • Deploy and monitor Brazen software applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

  • Produce estimates and lead the execution of approved work streams and tasks.

  • Document systems and best practices for the full software pipeline team.

  • Apply operational expertise to identify and evaluate solutions.

You're a great fit for this role if you bring

  • 3-5+ years of working experience in software development or systems administration.

  • 3+ years of Ruby 2.x development experience including:
    • A Good understanding of the syntax of Ruby and its nuances

    • A Solid understanding of object-oriented programming in Ruby

    • Understanding of functional programming style in Ruby

    • Skills for writing reusable Ruby libraries that may be used in expressive ways

  • Demonstrated confidence at the Unix/Linux command line.

  • Version control system experience with Git.

  • Excellent communication, presentation and collaborative problem-solving skills.

  • Experience working in a team oriented environment.

  • Must be a self-starter and able to demonstrate experience learning new technologies and practices.

Extra Credit For:

  • Experience working with Terraform

  • Experience working with Docker or similar container paradigm

  • Experience writing Ruby code directly against the AWS API.

  • Experience writing Chef Cookbooks, Recipes and Resources.

  • Deep experience automating deployments using Chef or a similar toolkit.

  • Proficient at administering Linux machines, preferably RHEL or Centos.

  • Experience deploying, monitoring and managing cloud applications on Amazon Web Services.
