Mapbox, Inc.: iOS Engineer, Navigation SDK – Washington, DC

DUTIES: Designing, developing, and modifying software development kits to support Mapbox navigation software
development. Experience in researching and developing mapping and GIS systems to support Mapbox software
development. Crafting expressive and easy-to-use APIs (application programming interfaces) for developers within
our navigation SDK. Analyzing needs from engineering teams, from Mapbox customers to engineer software
solutions, modify existing software, and improve software performance. Driving projects through the SDLC
(software development life cycle), including design, development, refactoring, and release and quality assurance
cycles. Monitoring software development kits functioning to ensure that specifications and performance target are
met. Providing key contributions and thought leadership into mobile architecture, code health, and development
processes, in order to build the best in-class mobile software products. Collaborating closely with other Mapbox
teams including server-side AWS APIs to understand, build, and enable delightful mobile experiences. Full remote

REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 2 years of software development
experience, including researching, mapping and GIS software at scale. Prior experience must include:

2 years of experience in each of the following:
- Building, testing, and measuring software in Python, C, Node.js, Java, Swift, Javascript, PHP, HTML5, CSS3,
Matlab, TypeScript;
- Researching and building GIS and mapping based software using industry standards like ArcGIS and python; and,
- Using standard software development tools like compilers, build systems and testing frameworks.

Any amount of experience building server-side APIs with AWS cloud services including DynamoDB, AWS ECS,

AWS Cloudformation, AWS Lambda.
