The Director of Research is the lead for EVERFI’s Research efforts in the K-12 market, with direction from the Vice President and Senior Director of Research. These efforts include: measuring the impact of EVERFI’s digital education offerings on learners, reporting impact to school districts and course sponsors, and producing topical and outcomes-oriented research and thought leadership in partnership with marketing and revenue teams. The Director is responsible for supporting the strategic direction of the organization and Research team, and developing research products that are aligned to strategic priorities and goals. The Director is responsible for directing team members on a project basis, and coordinating extensively with other teams to execute substantial work projects.

Responsibilities (aka Essential Functions)

  • Primary responsibility for a substantial portion Research functions for EVERFI’s K-12 line of business, including:
  • -- Effectively managing the project-based work of other team members.
  • -- Assuming responsibility for quality and timeliness of Research deliverables (internal and external) as assigned, including those that involve other team members.
  • -- Coordination with other EVERFI departments, including marketing, revenue, product, and engineering teams for assigned projects.
  • Represent EVERFI Research internally and externally, to position EVERFI as an industry leader in measurement and program evaluation for digital education.
  • Deliver meaningful, actionable, and timely research and insights to customers, in accordance with contractual and product commitments, and to enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Own the development of annual Impact Reports for customers, including:
  • -- Leading the development of report content
  • -- Coordinating with Research team members and internal teams to produce reports
  • -- Managing internal communication and providing training to revenue teams on report “talk track” and how to understand and present report data and insights
  • Ensure best-in-class measurement and monitoring of EVERFI’s K-12 digital education offerings, including authoring surveys and managing survey programming and implementation.
  • Develop expertise in one or more of EVERFI’s training topics (financial education, social-emotional learning, college and career readiness, health and well-being).
  • Other job-related duties, as assigned. 

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred 
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or a combination of post-bachelor’s education and experience
  • Skills, Knowledge & Competencies
  • -- Substantial understanding of research methods and their application.\
  • -- Competence with data analysis and analytical software (At least one of: Excel, SPSS, R, Tableau).
  • -- Substantial experience writing, presenting, and discussing research findings and their importance.
  • -- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex and technical ideas, concepts, and findings for a non-technical audience.
  • -- Experience developing survey instruments, preferably in an education setting or aimed at adolescent and young adult audiences..
  • -- Experience with and interest in staying up-to-date on latest relevant research trends, approaches, and findings.
  • -- Comfort with occasional work with executive leadership and representing the company externally.
  • -- Conceptual understanding of databases, and ability to work with product managers and engineering or data professionals to develop requirements.
  • -- Topical experience or demonstrated expertise in a particular EVERFI domain is a plus
