About the Role

Caribou is looking for a Sr. Compliance Analyst to support the execution, implementation and formalization of Caribou’s regulatory Compliance Program (“CMS”) that will enable our strategic and growth plans. In this role, you will escalate issues and risks to compliance leadership, as appropriate; act as thought-leader; communicate effectively; and be able to influence recommended solutions and enhancements.

The Sr. Compliance Analyst will report directly to the Director, Compliance Program and will provide support to the Chief Compliance Officer and others on the Compliance team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with preparing annual risk assessments for all compliance-related areas (i.e. ECOA, TILA, UDAAP, Fair Lending, CAN-SPAM, FCRA, AML/OFAC, GLBA/Privacy, etc.).
  • Serve as Policy Manager by maintaining all compliance policies and procedures, tracking annual reviews/renewals and coordinating any necessary updates with the respective subject matter experts
  • Consolidate complaint reporting, perform trend analysis and report on the results
  • Support in the creation of testing procedures and scripts to guide the testing process
  • Administer annual Compliance training plan, including managing assignments, monitoring/tracking completion rates and reporting and/or escalating, as needed
  • Facilitate in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual management reports on the state of the Compliance Program
  • Assist with compiling responses and/or documents requested for regulatory or compliance related audits, examinations and inquiries
  • Stay current on regulatory requirements and industry trends to ensure the Compliance Program and associated activities remain relevant and compliant
  • Other duties as assigned

This role can be based out of Caribou offices in Washington, DC; Denver, CO; Austin, TX. Alternatively, the role may be based remotely within the U.S. This role requires attendance at occasional in-person team meetings. Caribou currently requires that all personnel and visitors to any of its offices are fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus. As a result, candidates must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to be eligible for this position (subject to any exemptions or accommodations due to medical or religious reasons).

About You

  • 3-5 years of experience in banking, financial services or financial technology companies, in compliance, internal control, risk management and/or audit functions
  • Familiarity with consumer banking regulations (ECOA, TILA, UDAAP, Fair Lending, FCRA, AML/OFAC, GLBA/Privacy, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence decisions and drive change
  • Self-starter with ability to think independently, take ownership, and drive initiatives to resolution
  • Solid analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and rapid changes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat (and/or equivalent Google Suite applications)
  • Flexibility in taking on additional responsibilities over time as the job requires support of new and innovative processes

Bonus points for:

  • Working knowledge of consumer lending products (e.g., mortgage, auto, credit card) and consumer lending life cycle (e.g., marketing, origination, pricing, servicing and collections)
  • Previous experience with, or exposure to, working with banking regulators, including CFPB, FDIC, OCC, FTC, and/or state regulators
