About the Position
FiscalNote, the leading technology provider of global policy and market intelligence, has grown rapidly in terms of product offerings, diversity of customers, and global geographical footprint. The newly-created Vice President of Sales Operations and Excellence role will serve as an important leader of the company’s next phases of revenue growth, leading a sales operations recruiting, and enablement team and partnering extensively with lines of business and functional departments including Finance, Marketing, People, Strategy, and Business Intelligence.
The core focus areas for the Vice President, Sales Operations and Excellence will be:
Sales Planning and Execution. This includes serving as the proactive point of coordination between Strategy, Sales, Finance, Marketing, People and R&D to plan sales needs for future growth in a cohesive, integrated manner.
Sales Operations Planning and Execution. This includes overseeing quota development, sales capacity, commission plans, compelling and cost-effective rewards and recognition programs, sales channel rules of engagement and pricing.
Sales Talent Management. This includes workforce planning, recruiting, enablement - from training and skills development to technology platforms, and new hire onboarding.
What to Expect in this Position: Lead Sales Planning and ImplementationWith the support of your team, ensure actionable and practical sales capacity and workforce planning for profitable revenue growth from across the company’s lines of businessWork with the Marketing team to ensure inbound lead goals and execution align with revenue goalsWork with Finance and lines of business to adjust allocations of sales resources throughout the year based on key indicators of revenue performancePartner with Finance and Business Intelligence to communicate sales performance to internal and external stakeholders. Oversee Effective Sales OperationsOwn and maintain sales capacity models for both new logo sales and retention effortsEnsure effective sales budgeting across lines of business that both meet topline revenue goals while meeting profitability targetsPartner with lines of business to ensure optimal quotas and incentive plans across the teamsLead the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive and motivating rewards and recognition structure that is well-executed and promotes employee engagementSupport pricing analysis and administrationDirect rules of engagement to maximize sales results while minimizing territory conflict across sales teamsEnsure effective management of vendor and partner relationships to maximize ROI to the firmCollaborate with Marketing on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of Lead & Demand GenerationDrive efficient use of existing software deployments including Salesforce.com Ensure World-Class Sales Talent ManagementLead the team dedicated to designing, building and implementing a comprehensive sales attraction and recruitment programNew-hire onboarding from program design and improvement to execution with the goal of improving time-to-revenueIdentification and execution of solutions for needs to evolve selling skillsUpgrading and optimization of enablement tools, technologies, processes, and programsWhat Sets You Apart: 10+ years of experience involving recurring-revenue sales leadership, planning, sales operations, and people managementA strong understanding of SaaS and Information Service company principles and metrics - both for new sales and existing customer growthStrong analytical skills - with experience in or ability to quickly learn Google Workspace software applicationsA deep understanding of what makes an effective B-B sales executive and how to optimize their talent life-cycleExcellent executive communication skills and business acumenA fast-paced and adaptable growth mindset - willing and able to adapt and lead through changing circumstances at a high-growth company with a diverse and growing product lineAn eagerness to grow professionallyGrit - and a demonstrated commitment to your organization’s missionAn outcome-oriented, engaging, and empathetic leader of teamsAble to flex between quantitative and qualitative skill-setsEffective at planning and thinking on multiple time horizonsAnalytical with a sharp eye for detailAble to improve systems and leverage technology to improve efficienciesProficient at working cross-functionally at various levels of the organization - from C-suite to project managers and technical talentAn outstanding team and project manager of simultaneous workflowsProficient at hitting deadlines and setting clear expectations with direct reports and internal stakeholders across teamsA critical thinker who creates new ways to solve problemsAbout FiscalNote
