Role Summary

As a Drupal Architect at U.Group, you will be joining a diverse team of developers, designers, UX, project managers, and content strategists that focus on identifying client challenges and proposing solutions to maintain and architect enterprise-level Drupal web sites. You will use your expertise to work collaboratively on Drupal development, architecture planning, migration, API and DevOps solutions for U.Group customers. You will strategically lead Drupal projects by designing solutions for complex site-building, developing Drupal modules, troubleshooting server administration blockers, identifying environment challenges and coordinating with hosting providers. Your team will include fellow developers, and architects all working towards maturing and expanding U.Group solutions. 

 

Location: Washington, DC

Clearance: Current, or have the ability to obtain, public trust or higher security clearance 

Key Objective #1: Plan, organize and lead DevOps solutions in Drupal platform development

  • Build and execute custom migrations of database content and files using Drupal migrate API 
  • Plan appropriate platform specific data types, data fields, displays and queries based on IA and in collaboration with UX 
  • Build, maintain, improve or integrate REST API endpoints 
  • Design systems that span multiple technologies/platforms 
  • Design, develop, and test Drupal modules 
  • Perform application monitoring, maintenance and optimization to harden security and improve performance 
  • Design or improve operations support systems (auditing, testing, monitoring, reporting, fail overs etc.) 
  • Key Objective #2:  Collaborate and support cross-functional delivery teams that include fellow developers, designers, project management, and customer stakeholders

  • Collaborate with U.Group customers during discovery phase to define a technical brief 
  • Communicate complex web development concepts 
  • Identify challenges during discovery phase and break into achievable components 
  • Collaborate on designs, wireframes, and other project deliverables for potential development issues and flag feasibility challenges when needed 
  • Perform code reviews and encourage application of coding standards 
  • Key Objective #3:  Provide Subject Matter Expertise for team growth, business development activities, and solution strategy development

  • Design systems, process, standards and workflows 
  • Assist stakeholders with resolving web-related technical issues 
  • Provide mentorship to development team members 
  • Communicate the intricacies of complex web development issues, acting as a subject matter expert both internally across departments and externally with clients 
  • Identifying opportunities to grow/mature/enhance/strengthen skills of the team
