Sr. Email Marketing Manager

What We’re Looking For:

A Senior Email Marketing Manager within the 2U boot camps line of business. Working closely with the email marketing team and senior management, you will oversee a team of email marketers as well as execute email strategy and build, deploy, and analyze email marketing campaigns. You will work to develop new campaigns, analyze campaign results, and develop key insights to make appropriate recommendations to senior management through accurate and effective data analysis.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Mentor and lead a team of email marketers, building internal processes to support scaling
  • Help plan and execute short and long-term strategic initiatives, partnering with email ops to manage ESP
  • Own brand management for outbound emails, reviewing team deliverables and making optimizations as needed
  • Work with the team on the creation and maintenance of complex automation rules and triggers, personalized workflows, dynamic content sections, nurtures, and list segmentation.
  • Create and modify existing HTML email templates using the latest mobile-friendly and responsive design techniques
  • Develop testing strategies and reporting, proactively monitoring and analyzing key email metrics to identify and implement opportunities for continuous campaign optimization
  • Act as internal expert on direct marketing, email nurturing trends, technology, and best practices

Things That Should Be In Your Background:

  • Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Business, or equivalent
  • Minimum 6-7 years’ experience in a medium-to-large scale direct marketing or email marketing role
  • Experience with email marketing using Salesforce and marketing automation using Marketing Cloud (Pardot experience a plus!)
  • Extremely comfortable modifying existing HTML email templates with an emphasis on mobile and responsive design, with HTML and CSS email coding experience
  • Proven experience leading a high-performing team and training others in email marketing best practices and tools
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment with shifting priorities, and strong project management, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to see the big picture and develop a long-term roadmap and strategy, while also being comfortable in the weeds, tackling all aspects of a project hands-on
  • Demonstrated ease, facility, and interest in working with data and a/b testing, including standard email engagement and web analytics tools (such as Google Analytics)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a large number of concurrent campaigns and conceptualize data collection and segmentation strategies
  • Knowledge of database and email marketing best practices i.e., deployment, testing, deliverability, performance analysis, CAN-SPAM laws, and database hygiene
