Opportunity Summary

This position reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer of Higher Logic and will lead and plan the overall marketing strategy for the Association market segment.

Higher Logic provides a robust engagement platform and strategic services with over a decade of experience in building personalized and scalable community engagement programs. We serve more than 3,000 customers, representing over 350,000 online communities with greater than 200 million users in 42 countries worldwide.

Lead generation and customer advocacy fuel pipeline and revenue growth plans for a direct sales and account management leveraging the full stack marketing efforts via advertising, analyst and public relations, social media marketing, product marketing, marketing automation, reviews, events, and partner channels. There is a heavy emphasis towards online marketing efforts.

Responsibilities

Marketing Functional

  • Lead the development of ICP and persona development for the Association market segment including insights, demographic and psychographic information, purchase drivers and need states. Coordinate research, market analysis, competitive data, sales data to identify market trends, buyer behaviors and insights.
  • Lead the planning and expense management process for marketing contribution to pipeline for new or expansion revenue.
  • Develop product brand positioning for the marketing automation and community offering to the Association market segment. Oversee the launch of new products as well as lead a team to develop the strategies and plan for marketing campaigns across Association products driving revenue growth and customer engagement.
  • Manage the content strategy and development for though leadership, blogs, e-books and other assets as well as customer advocacy to reinforce brand and product value proposition in the buying and upsell cycle.
  • Be the Marketing liaison with the product and finance teams championing customer priorities in the product roadmap as well as budget and forecast management.
  • Responsible for ensuring goals are clear, proper requirements have been translated and projects are being prioritized appropriately.
  • Contribute to the creative process and campaign development across all channels, stewarding the quality control process, aligning with legal requirements and ensuring strategic and brand alignment.
  • Collaborate across the Product, Sales and Customer Success teams around new product launches ensuring marketing voice is integrated and needs are clearly communicated, scheduled across appropriate channels and executed. 
  • Infuse marketing with creative ideas & messages by leveraging consumer insights and passions.
  • Help drive an innovative and collaborative spirit within marketing.

Management

  • Manage a team directly and collaboratively to develop and lead marketing strategies, campaign plans and content for the Association market
  • Expertise in process documentation and implementing structure through an organization.
  • Work effectively with and manage day-to-day relationship with internal and external teams to ensure quality work is delivered to meet business goals.

Financial

  • Manage overall Association marketing expenditures; properly forecasting, reconciling, and documenting expenses.
  • Manage and collaborate with Sales and FP&A on Association annual and quarterly business metrics.

Qualifications

  • Marketing professional with 10+ years of experience within direct marketing, advertising agency or association marketing environment. Subscription or SaaS marketing experience highly desired.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills including the proven ability to identify data trends and assess results to present implications in actionable manner.
  • Self-motivated marketing professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has delivered proven results.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a cross-functional team, with emphasis on driving sales and marketing priorities throughout an organization.
  • Strong communications skills. Examples: ability to develop actionable briefs and manage the creative process; assess results & craft concise recommendations; develop new ideas and support them with funding rationale.
  • Ability to influence others through insights and data, ground perspectives in data and tangible learnings.
