Job Description

Higher Logic is seeking an experienced Web Designer with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to autonomously tackle development projects from start to finish. This is a great opportunity – you’ll be a celebrated new addition to our global team, working closely with the entire marketing department to complete a wide variety of projects. This is a high-energy, high-growth tech company with great products, people, and upside. As the in-house front-end expert, you’ll do more than code all day. You’ll build diverse technical skills to help develop two eye-popping websites – HigherLogic.com and VanillaForums.com â€“ that showcase our combined services and capabilities. You’ll work with a team of marketing managers, in-house creative and leadership to develop new website pages and enhance existing sites. You’ll play a key role, have a voice, and make an impact.  

This role will report to the Director of Digital and Demand Generation. Our future of work will provide flexibility to increase productivity and career development. We have offices in Arlington, Montreal, Portland, Saratoga Springs and Sydney and we are open to remote work.

  • Lead the autonomous development of new website pages for marketing programs. 
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve the performance on marketing websites. 
  • Developing and implementing front-end code – writing clean, semantic code at all times. 
  • Contribute to larger development projects with guidance from back-end developer or external senior development team.  


  • 3+ years of experience working in a web development role. 
  • 1+ yearof experience with WordPress. 
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and jQuery. 
  • Knowledge of Hugo or other static site builders.
  • An understanding of and interest in UX principles. 
  • Proven work experience as a WordPress developer.
  • Knowledge of code versioning tools.
  • Experience working with debugging tools.
  • Good understanding of website architecture and aesthetics.
  • Ability to manage projects.
  • Good communication skills.
